Event Insights : Gain more knowledge on The 2026 Annual Science Meeting of ESSAS - for publication and research. Borealization is reshaping ecosystems, fisheries, and societies across the Subarctic and Arctic. Warming waters, shifting species distributions, and changes in sea ice, circulation, and biogeochemistry are transforming marine systems from the coast to the deep sea. The 2026 Annual Science Meeting of ESSAS (Ecosystem Studies of Subarctic and Arctic Seas) will focus on understanding and anticipating these transitions across physical, biological, and human dimensions. The meeting will be held in plenary format at the University of Iceland in Reykjavík from 23–25 June 2026. We invite contributions from natural and social scientists, Indigenous and local knowledge holders, students, and stakeholders working on Subarctic and Arctic marine systems
