Water pollution, its treatment, and associated socioeconomic impacts have become critical global concerns. These changes may affect a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, tourism, and recreation. Despite uncertainties in future water management, there is substantial evidence indicating that water pollution will have profound impacts on both natural environments and human activities. Therefore, understanding its effects on hydrological, ecological, and socioeconomic systems has become a priority in both scientific research and water management strategies. The International Symposium on Water Pollution and Treatment (ISWPT) provides an important platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange knowledge, showcase recent advances, foster collaboration, and shape the future of this critical field. Following the successful on-site conference of ISWPT 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, the 9th International Symposium on Water Pollution and Treatment (ISWPT 2026) will be held in Shanghai, China, from December 12 to 14, 2026.
