India Responsible Capital Conference (IRCC 2026)

The Centre for Sustainability and Corporate Governance Research (CSCG) at IIMA has been set up to contribute to the development of the nascent ESG ecosystem in India and help Indian enterprises and organizations integrate ESG into their core business and investment decisions. In doing so, the Centre shall contribute to the transition of businesses towards the future of capitalism defined by stakeholder orientation with a focus on long-term enterprise value, shared societal prosperity, and a sustainable relationship with the planet.

As artificial intelligence and digital infrastructures rapidly reshape the global economy, the intersection of corporate governance, sustainability transitions, and capital allocation demands a fundamental reimagining. Modern organizations are no longer just managing traditional environmental and social risks; they are now tasked with governing complex algorithmic systems, ensuring data integrity in ESG reporting, and mitigating systemic climate liabilities. This massive digital shift alters how boards exercise oversight, how investors evaluate long-term corporate resilience, and how regulators police greenwashing in financial markets. Especially within India and emerging market economies, balancing technological transformation with ethical, intergenerational value creation has become the defining challenge for contemporary organizational leadership.
