On behalf of the local organizing committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you all to the IMS2027 Congress in Stavanger. We have a unique hub of music institutions in Bjergsted Culture Park. The Faculty of Performing Arts at the University of Stavanger is situated near the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Stavanger Cultural School, the Stavanger Cathedral School (a high school), and music organizations representing a diversity of music cultures. This ecosystem of concert halls and meeting rooms, equipped with modern technology for hybrid conferencing, will ensure a wonderful experience for all at IMS2027. The concentration of all these institutions, just a brief walk from the city center, makes Stavanger especially well-suited for an international carbon-neutral music congress. Being the energy capital of Norway (since the 1970s), the city and the region have developed a high level of expertise in facilitating international events. We offer discounted rates at select hotels, restaurants serving local specialties and international cuisine, and an affordable cafeteria at the conference venue. For those who wish to explore further, excursions include easy day trips to the Pulpit Rock. As all the venues are within walking distance in the park, we plan to make time for spontaneous walk-and-talk activities between the sessions.
