ANZSGM 2027

On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, we would like to welcome you to the Australia and New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine’s Annual Scientific Meeting held in Victoria at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 11th-14th May 2027.

Our theme for 2027 is “The Geriatrician Reimagined”. As our population ages and healthcare continue to evolve, the role of the geriatrician is expanding in exciting and unexpected ways. Whether we are working across acute and community settings, driving new models of care, or advocating for older people, our specialty continues to adapt while remaining true to its core values. Through this theme, we hope to explore what the future of geriatric medicine looks like and the opportunities that lie ahead for our profession and how this can enhance patient care.

Our international keynote speaker is Professor Louise Aronson who will be joining us from the United States. Professor Aronson is the author of the New York Times bestseller and Pulitzer Prize finalist Elderhood. Through her writing, clinical work and advocacy, she has become one of the world's most influential voices on ageing and the care of older people.

We are equally delighted to welcome Professor Kwang Lim as our domestic keynote speaker. Professor Lim is the Clinical Director of Aged Care, and Medical Director of Home First, Ambulatory and Complex Care at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. His research and clinical leadership span many of the most important issues facing older adults today.
