25th Australasian Fluid Mechanics Conference (AFMC2026)

We are delighted to invite you to attend the 25th Australasian Fluid Mechanics Conference (AFMC2026), to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand, in December 2026. Organised in collaboration with the Australasian Fluid Mechanics Society, the conference will bring together leading Australasian and international scientists, engineers, industry professionals, educators, and research students who share a common interest in fluid mechanics.

AFMC2026 will provide outstanding opportunities for networking and collaboration, fostering stronger connections between academia, industry, and government across Australasia and beyond.

This milestone event marks the 25th conference in a highly successful series that began in 1962. Christchurch last hosted the AFMC more than 50 years ago, in 1974, and we are excited to once again showcase the strength of our fluid mechanics community while welcoming delegates to this vibrant city. In keeping with the long-standing tradition of the AFMC, all accepted papers will be published online in the proceedings.

The conference will take place during the Southern Hemisphere summer, offering plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy the outdoors. We encourage participants to make their visit a family occasion and experience all that Christchurch and the wider South Island of New Zealand have to offer. AFMC2026 will be held in person.
