Conference Details : the past several decades, certain malignancies display remarkable genetic, epigenetic and metabolic plasticity, culminating in resistance to even the most aggressive therapeutic modalities. It has long been recognized that stresses present in the tumor microenvironment (TME), including hypoxia, low nutrient availability, the presence or absence of specific immune infiltrates, the microbiome ecosystem etc., act as physiological selective pressures that promote tumor aggressiveness and confound therapeutic efforts. Gaining further key insights into the complex interactions between tumor cells, stromal components, immune cells, and the extracellular matrix can provide new approaches and targets to widen the therapeutic window and improve outcomes in oncology.
